Aims and Rules

The Residents Association comprises residents from the Bungalow Estate Conservation Area which is in Redbridge, London.

 

The Conservation area consist of around 700 bungalows, all of similar design, with spacious front and rear gardens, the Bungalow Estate has an attractive urban appearance and is a sought after place to live. In common with many other areas in the country changes in planning policies and peoples attitudes over the years has had an adverse effect on the character of the Bungalow Estate.

 

The main aim of the Residents Association is to "preserve and enhance the character of the Bungalow Estate Conservation Area". We do this by making residents aware of situations which might affect this and also by working in close liaison with Redbridge council and advising on policies to support this objective.

                                                      SKEBRA Rules and Constitution.
1. The Association shall be called:-
"The Seven Kings Bungalow Estate Residents' Association.
2. The objectives of the Association shall be:-
(a)To take such action as may best preserve the character of the area.
(b)To stimulate an active interest in all local affairs that may affect the Estate.
(c)To arrange such social activities as Members may request.
3. Membership shall be open to all Householders and their
families on the Estate who pay their annual Subscriptions.
Associate membership shall be open to Residents of adjoining roads to the Estate on payment of
an annual subscription
(reduced rate).
4 .The Annual Subscription, the amount of which shall be determined each year at the Annual
General Meeting shall be due on or before the 31st March. The Financial Year shall commence on
the 1st April and end on the 31st March.
5. The Officers of the Association shall consist of Chairman,
Vice-Chairman, Hon. Treasurer and Hon.Secretary.
6. The business of the Association shall be conducted by a
Committee which shall consist of Chairman, Vice-Chairman,
Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Secretary and five other Members, five to form a Quorum.
The Committee shall have power to co-opt. Chairman to have casting vote.
7. The Officers and other committee Members shall be elected
at the Annual General Meeting to hold office for one year.
The Annual General Meeting shall be called between 1st and 30th of April.
8. An extraordinary General Meeting shall be called within fourteen days at the request of not
less than 20 full members. The request shall be in writing addressed to the Hon. Secretary.
9. Voting shall be restricted to one vote per household on display of Membership Card. Only full
members have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting or a extraordinary General Meeting
on matters solely affecting the Bungalow Estate.
10. Prior to the Annual General Meeting the Hon. Treasurer shall prepare a Balance Sheet for
Audit and present it to the Meeting.
11. The funds of the Association shall be lodged with a Bank
decided upon by the Committee.
12. All cheques issued by the Association shall be signed by the
Hon.Treasurer and countersigned by the Chairman or Hon Secretary.
13. The Accounts of the Association shall be audited by Auditor(s)
elected at the Annual General Meeting.
14. Change of Rules. Any amendment to the Rules shall be decided upon by majority vote at the
Annual General Meeting. Details of such change shall be set out on the notice convening the
Meeting.
15. Should the Association be disbanded any surplus funds held by the Association at the time
shall be paid over to a Charity selected by the Committee.
